Freddie Mac plan helps occupants of foreclosed properties |

Mortgage giant Freddie Mac is launching a national initiative that gives tenants and former owners of foreclosed properties the option to stay in their homes on a month-to-month lease, the company reported Thursday.
HomeSteps, McLean, Va.-based Freddie Mac’s national real estate unit, will manage the "real estate owned" rental initiative, which will be implemented through several national property management firms.
