Pepsi Bottling lifts view on U.S. sales, currency |

Better performance in the U.S., along with more stable currency fluctuation and lower commodity costs, led Pepsi Bottling Group Inc. to raise its second-quarter and full-year profit targets, the company said Tuesday.
Before the start of trading, Pepsi Bottling tacked on a nickel a share to its estimate for the current quarter, raising it to a range of 70 cents to 74 cents. For the all of 2009, it now expects to earn $2.30 to $2.40 a share -- 10 cents higher than previous hopes.
The average per-share estimate of analysts polled by FactSet Research had been for the company to earn 70 cents for the quarter and $2.26 for the year.
