Wall Street Journal - Jun 19, 2009 |
European commercial aircraft builder Airbus has racked up orders and commitments from airlines for 120 jets at the Paris Air Show this week, Chief Operating Officer-Customers John Leahy said Friday.
The unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co NV (EADSY) is waiting for a final signature at the event later today for another order for seven A330 wide-bodied aircraft, he said.
If this order is concluded, he said, the total would rise to 127 aircraft worth $12.9 billion on the basis of Airbus's list prices. The last order, which would be worth about $1.7 billion on a list price basis, would be a memorandum of understanding, not a firm order, Leahy said.
He declined to disclose the identity of the customer until the contract is signed.
