Airlines gain; international passenger growth returns |

Airline stocks were on the rise Tuesday, playing off data showing a resumption of international passenger growth as well as crude-oil futures falling below $78 a barrel.
At last check, the Arca Airline Index rose less than 1% to 35.24 points with all but one of its 13 components in the green. In the last 52 weeks, the benchmark index has moved in a range of 36.25 to 12.62 points.
Among individual gainers, shares of US Airways Group added 2.4% to $5.64, Delta Air Lines rose 2.4% to $13.04 and United Airlines parent UAL Corp. climbed 1.9% to $13.50.
In the energy pits, crude for February delivery at one point dropped below $77 a barrel before climbing back to a narrower loss.
