Delta Air Sees Revenue Recovery, Courts JAL |

Business and international travel, key revenue drivers at Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL), are on the upswing, executives of the world's largest airline said Tuesday. Along with month-by-month passenger revenue growth this year, Delta also expects a stronger worldwide economy to boost non-passenger revenue, for fees and aircraft maintenance.
Like other carriers, Delta is recovering from a deep plunge in passenger traffic last spring. In fourth-quarter results so far, both low-cost and big-network carriers have reported rebounds, with American Airlines parent AMR Corp. (AMR), Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) and Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) all beating market expectations.
Depending heavily on international travelers, Delta continues to seek a tie-up with ailing Japan Airlines Corp. (JALSY, 9205.TO), Delta Chief Executive Richard Anderson said during a conference call. Delta, vying for the partnership with American Airlines, is battling to get JAL to jump from the Oneworld airline alliance to Delta's SkyTeam.
