Apple launches iPad tablet device |

Apple Inc. put an end to months of speculation on Wednesday when the company lifted the wraps on the iPad, a new touch-screen tablet computer.
Chief Executive Steve Jobs introduced the device at an event in San Francisco. The iPad will go on sale in 60 days and start at $499 for a 16GB model without a 3G wireless connection; in 90 days, the 3G tablets will be available, topping out at $829 for a 3G device with 64GB of memory.
