Standard searches on Google Hong Kong site blocked, China web users say |

Web users across China today reported that all standard searches on Google's Hong Kong-based website were blocked, but suggested the problem could be unintentional rather than a bar by the Chinese authorities.
It was still possible to search from toolbars on several browsers and use the advanced search function on the google.com.hk page.
However, standard searches from that page resulted in the internet connection being reset so no results were displayed.
Google declined to offer an immediate comment on the problem, which was experienced by users in areas from Guangdong, in the south, to Beijing and Jilin, in the north.
