Toyota's ambitious vision: 21% sales increase by 2015 |

If you thought the recalls of the past 18 months have humbled Toyota, think again. President Akio Toyoda today said his "global vision" of the company's future includes becoming the first automaker to sell 10 million vehicles in a year by 2015.
The world's largest automaker has said that chasing sales growth caused it to stray from its quality principles. But Toyoda today he envisions Toyota going from 8.24 million sales last year to 10 million just four years from now.
According an Associated Press report on his speech in Tokyo, Toyoda said the company "wants to make millions of customers happy, and stress he was giving a numerical sales target. He repeatedly emphasized goals like quality controls, customer satisfaction and solid profits."
