McDonald's Feb Same-Store Sales Rise 12% |

McDonald's Corp. (MCD) posted a 12% rise in February same-store global sales, as the fast-food restaurant chain benefited from strong performance in each of its business segments as well as an extra day due to leap year.
The news sent shares up 4.3% in premarket trading to $54.50 from Friday's closing price of $52.27.
The company said its results include a benefit of about 4 percentage points from the extra day.
The fast-food chain's U.S. same-store stores saw sales grow 8.3%, driven by strong performance from its breakfast, coffee and "everyday value" offerings.
The company's same-store sales in Europe jumped 15% on strong results in the U.K., France, Germany and Russia. Europe's results benefited from the chain's premium beef and chicken menu selections there, as well as its affordability.
