IBM Says Federal Suspension Lifted |

International Business Machines Corp. said the Environmental Protection Agency has lifted a week-old ban that had barred IBM from all new federal work.
The company said it will continue to cooperate with the EPA's ongoing investigation of possible violations regarding a bid for business with the agency, and with a related investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
The EPA temporarily banned IBM last week from receiving new contracts - a move that automatically became effective government-wide - while it investigated "potential activities involving a procurement." At the time, IBM said federal prosecutors served grand jury subpoenas seeking documents and testimony relating to interactions between agency and IBM employees.
