Starbucks Q2 profit up 18% |

Starbucks Corp said its fiscal second-quarter profits jumped 18 per cent as the company continued its aggressive global expansion, opening 560 new stores and posting solid revenue growth despite flat traffic in US stores.
The company reported net income of $150.8 million, or 19 cents a share, for the 13 weeks ended April 1. That was up from earnings of $127.3 million, or 16 cents per share, in the same period last year.
Revenue for the latest quarter rose 20 per cent to $2.26 billion, compared with $1.89 billion last year.
