VeriSign names new CEO, chairman |

Internet security company VeriSign Inc. said on Tuesday its board had elected William Roper as its chief executive officer and Edward Mueller as chairman.
The company said Stratton Sclavos had stepped down as chief executive officer and member of board.
The company said, as it had previously disclosed, a review of its historical stock option grant practices by an ad hoc group of independent board members was substantially complete. It said the review did not find intentional wrongdoing by any current member of senior management, including Sclavos.
