Northwest Air shares rise after Big Board launch |

Shares of Northwest Airlines Corp. rose in early trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, as the U.S. No. 5 airline marked its exit from 20 months in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Its shares rose 75 cents, or 3 percent, to $25.25 on the NYSE, up from a closing price of $24.50 on Wednesday on a "when issued" basis -- in which shares change hands but trades are not settled until the stock is actually issued.
