Murdoch in Journal talks with Bancrofts |

The first meeting between Rupert Murdoch, the chief executive of News Corporation, parent company of The Times, and the family that controls Dow Jones, ended last night with both sides describing it as “constructive”.
Speaking as he left the five-hour meeting, Mr Murdoch said: “We had a very long and constructive meeting and I feel we made progress. We are now going away to consider our options.”
A spokesman for the Bancroft family said: “The parties had a constructive dialogue and have gone back to consider their positions.”
