They aren't singing the blues at Big Blue today.
Right after the market closed Wednesday IBM posted its second quarter results and the company lifting the company 1.2%, or $1.37, so far in after-hours trading to $112.01.
High on the mantle is the technology company’s sales, which came in at $23.8 billion, an 8.7% rise from last year’s $21.9 million. The Armonk, N.Y.-based company’s enjoyed an even greater rise in earnings with a 15.0% gain, to $2.3 billion, or $1.55 per share, from the $2.0 billion, or $1.30 per share, reported last year.
These numbers stand at an unambiguous distance above Wall Street’s expected revenue of $23.0 billion, and earnings of $2.2 billion, or $1.47 per share, especially notable for a company of its size.
