KNICK EXPLORATION INC. ANNOUNCES MORE GOLD TARGETS DEVELOPED ON EAST-WEST |
thenewswire.ca - Jan 20, 2011 |
Val-d'Or, Quebec, January 20, 2011, - Knick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: KNX) ("Knick Exploration" or "the Company") is pleased to report that the results of recent compilation work in conjunction with survey data has led to seven gold drilling target areas on Knicks' East-West property. Knicks' target areas have been prioritized and five of the seven are slated as primary. The target areas lie within the gold corridor between the past producing Marban Mine (Aurizon-ARZ) and the producing Kiena Mine (Wesdome-WDO).
Recent geological modeling suggests a convergence of gold bearing structures, the Raven and Gilbert gold zones, in a localized section along the Marbanite Fault. An untested IP anomaly is coincident with this area.
The recently discovered Gilbert Gold Zone, where 5 different samples containing visible gold at surface were found, is open at depth and along strike is considered a high priority target area.
The Raven Zone is exposed at surface for over 250m having been drill traced to 75m is targeted to test its continuity to depth. The western extension of the Raven Gold Zone is open to drill testing.
The North East Zone potential gold area is situated at the junction of the projected eastern extensions of the Raven Gold Zone and West Gold Zone.
The Grand Canyon Gold area is targeted, of particular interest is the projected intersection of the Grand Canyon and Gilbert structures as it coincides with a subtle IP anomaly.
The historical East Gold Zone is open at depth and along strike.
