Harley Davidson cuts production |

Motorcycle maker Harley Davidson is cutting production for the rest of the year after a sharp fall in sales in its core US market.
The warning signs were there when the company announced a 5.5% decline in sales in its financial results for the quarter ending June 30.
After a sales boost in July due to a special promotion at dealerships, orders plunged in August and CEO Jim Ziemer today imposed a production cut to between 86,000 and 88,000 units in the current quarter. Previously the range had been 91,000 to 95,000.
