PepsiCo said Friday it would launch several new drinks, including a low-calorie version of its Gatorade sports drink, as it aims to expand its market share in the fast-growing enhanced water and energy beverage categories.
The company, whose brands include its namesake cola, Quaker oatmeal, Frito-Lay snacks, and Tropicana juice, said it plans to significantly expand its non-carbonated portfolio in the U.S.
It plans to introduce two new products under its Gatorade brand: G2, a low-calorie electrolyte drink, and an amped-up version of its Propel flavored water, Propel Invigorating Water, which contains caffeine. G2 will have 25 calories a serving, down from 50 calories a serving for regular Gatorade.
