Chip trade association raises sales forecast for '07 |

The Semiconductor Industry Association said chip sales will grow 3.8% in 2007 fueled by strong consumer demand.
The forecast is higher than the trade group's earlier growth estimate of 1.8%, but still well below the 10% rise SIA projected at the beginning of the year.
SIA President George Scalise said the increase is being driven by consumer demand for such items as personal computers, cell phones, MP3 players and digital televisions.
