Hewlett-Packard Co. has acquired NUR Macroprinters Ltd. in a deal that, while small, is the company's second in three months for a manufacturer of industrial wide-format digital inkjet printers.
The $117.5 million deal should give the Palo Alto-based tech giant a stronger footprint in industrial inkjet printers, the signature product of the Lod, Israel-based NUR.
H-P expects strong demand from businesses for digitization of analog prints. Such services provide for businesses the opportunity to reduce overhead costs by fulfilling the long-ago promise of the Internet and the high-tech sector to create a paperless society.
