Nokia Siemens Networks on Monday said it's won a $935 million contract to roll out and service a state-of-the-art mobile network for Middle Eastern carrier Zain in Saudi Arabia.
Under the terms of the deal, the telecoms-equipment joint venture of Finland's Nokia Corp. and Germany's Siemens AG will provide Zain, formerly known as the MTC Group, with a so-called "turnkey" second-generation (2G) and 3G network.
This deal is one of the most important in Nokia Siemens Networks' history and also very strategic for our growth in Africa as Zain is present in more than 14 countries in the region," said Walid Moneimne, chairman for the Middle East and Africa region at Nokia Siemens.
