Retailers Post Sluggish Sales in July |

Retailers posted another month of declining sales in July as the back-to-school shopping season got off to a tepid start.
Teen retailer Abercrombie & Fitch was among the worst performers, with same-stores sales -- a key indicator that includes only those stores that have been open at least a year -- plummeting 28 percent compared with July 2008.
American Eagle dropped 11 percent in July compared with the same month one year ago, and Gap fell 8 percent.
