Delta Air, United Say Business Travel Returns as Slump Recedes |

Delta Air Lines Inc. and United Airlines said business travel is improving and that the worst of the demand slump has ended.
Delta, the world’s biggest carrier, said November ticket volume from corporate customers rose 5 percent, the best since March, and revenue from those passengers had the smallest decline of any month in the period. UAL Corp.’s United’s 25 percent drop in September corporate revenue was the year’s best.
The comments by both carriers today at a Next Generation Equity Research LLC airline conference in New York bolster confidence that a recovery in travel demand is under way. Traffic for the six biggest U.S. airlines slid 1 percent in November, the smallest drop in 18 months, and the Bloomberg U.S. Airlines Index has more than doubled since its March low.
