European Stocks Already Priced for Economic Slowdown, RBS Says |

Investors should buy European equities even as economic reports from the U.S. to China suggest global growth is faltering because stocks have already priced in a slowdown, strategists said.
“European stocks are a dirty word among investors,” Ian Richards, London-based strategist at Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, said at a presentation in London today. “Equity markets are all about pricing in risk and there is a major risk premium already on the table.”
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index has tumbled 13 percent from this year’s high in April on concern a sovereign-debt crisis is spreading in the region. The selloff left the benchmark gauge trading at about 11 times reported earnings, the lowest valuation since 2008, according to Bloomberg data.
