Obama, Republicans seek 'common ground' on tax cuts |

President Obama said today that his aides will meet with congressional Republicans to find "sensible common ground" on their dispute over whether George W. Bush-era tax cuts should be extended for wealthy Americans.
"That process is beginning right away," Obama said after meeting with GOP and Democratic lawmakers at the White House. "And we expect to get some answers back over the next couple of days about how we can accomplish our key goal, which is to make sure the economy continues to grow and we are putting people back to work."
With the Bush tax cuts set to expire at the end of the year, Obama said his top priority is preserving the existing tax rates for middle class taxpayers.
