U.S. jobless rate at 7.7% in November |

The U.S. economy added an estimated 146,000 jobs to nonfarm payrolls in November, the U.S. Labor Department reported. The unemployment rate dropped up to 7.7 percent from the previous month’s 7.9 percent, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It is the lowest rate since December 2008.
The number of unemployed remained essentially unchanged at 12 million, the agency says in its monthly employment situation summary. The professional and business services, health care and retail trade industries experienced job gains.
Employment in construction declined by 20,000 in November. Manufacturing employment changed little over the month.
